Two cats

Description

‘Two cats’ was the first painting that has been commissioned. It was a friend but still it he approached me to tell me he would like to commission a painting for his living room and the only two conditions would be the color red and it should contain two cats. I accepted the commission although I knew I cannot draw/paint cats at all but I was sure I would figure something out. It turned out the Letters of ‘two cats’ are actually a very cool combination and so I decided to do what I can do best and put a lettering in the center of the painting. the two cats to the left and right are not truly my creation, honestly I had the idea of drawing the cats with only one line so I was looking ideas up online and practiced the two variations I liked the most. eventually it turned out to be actually quite hard to make it look like a cat and not like a dog or tiger. But I guess I did a fairly good job. Finally I edit some mountain ranges in the far background because my friend is a very passionate climber. The best part of the painting for me though is the foreground with looks like grassland at a closer look and my signature add-on in turquoise and blue-ish tones to bring some freshness and cooling to the hot overall red painting.

My friend and his wife are very happy about the result and it was a pleasure to have made that experience – from the challenge of the two cats to the satisfying feeling when revealing the end result to the clients. Thanks Cody and Anh 🙂
